McDonnell Douglas MD-90-30 s/n 53460 l/n 2142 flew first on 1 November 1996. The aircraft was delivered as OY-KIM to SAS- Scandinavian Airlines System on 21 December 1996. In November 2005, the airliner was wfu and the registration OY-KIM was cancelled on 4 April 2006. The next day, the aircraft was registered HB-JID in Switzerland with Scandinavian Airlines System as owner and Hello AG, Basel, as operator. On 15 May 2006, the aircraft entered service with Iceland Express with Hello AG handling the flight operations. In 2008 the aircraft returned in service with Hello Airlines. On 17 September 2008, the aircraft was used by the football team FC Heerenveen for the trip to Lissabon as they had to play the UEFA Cup match against Vitória Setúbal in Portugal.
