The Cessna 402B is a six- to ten-seat, twin piston engine, unpressurized light corporate and utility aircraft with retractable landing gear
produced by the US-American manufacturer Cessna Aircraft Company. All seats are easily removable so that the aircraft can be used in an
all-cargo configuration. Development of Model 402 started similar with Model 401 in 1965, based on the Model 411, the initial production
model of the basic design, as more economic developments of the Cessna 411, with less weight and less powerful engines. The Cessna 411
received FAA certification on 17 August 1964, and was the basis of a series Cessna 400 models such as the 401, 402, 414, 421 and 425.
The Model 401 and 402 were powered by two 300 hp turbocharged Continental TSIO-520-EC engines with three-bladed, constant speed, fully
feathering propellers and was flown first on 26 August 1965. The Model 401 as well as the Model 402 were approved on 20 September 1966,
and entered production the same year. The Cessna 402 series was marketet under the name Utiliner and Businessliner. In 1968, the Cessna
402's nose was stretched for added baggage space. This model was renamed the 402A and received FAA certification on 3 January 1969. Further
developments of the Cessna 402 were the Model 402B that was approved on 12 Movember 1969 and the Model 402C that was approved on 25 September
1978. Cessna ended the production of the Model 402 in 1985. When the last aircraft came off the line, Cessna had built 1535 Model 402, 402A,
402B and 402C aircraft. In 1985, Cessna Aircraft Company ceased to be an independent company. It was purchased by General Dynamics Corporation
and became a wholly owned subsidiary. In 1992, General Dynamics sold Cessna to Textron Inc. and on 29 July 2015, the company name changed to
Textron Aviation Inc., Wichita, Kansas. The ICAO code for the Cessna 402B is C402.
The 1971-built Cessna 402B s/n 402B-0201 was registered N73873Q in the USA with Cessna Aircraft Company.
In 1971, the aircraft was registered OY-SAV in Denmark with Sterling Airways. Over the years, after being put out of service by Sterling,
the OY-SAV was transferred Center Flight; Kampsax Geoplan and finally to Vulcan Air. In April 2006, registration OY-SAV was cancelled as
exported to Germany, and the aircraft was re-registered D-ISAV. Since, Cessna 402B D-ISAV is operated by Aerodata
International Surveys. On 21 April 2009, Cessna 402B D-ISAV was seen at Groningen Airport Eelde. That period, the
aircraft operated was used on aerial photography / geophysical survey operations.
