The Turkish charter airliner Sky Airlines (SHY) was established in 2000 as an affiliate of the KayiGroup, located in Antalya. On 12 April 2001, commercial flights started with a fleet of 2 Boeing 737-400 airliners. The Boeing 737-85F TC-SKC was leased from GATX in November 2001 and is operated by Sky Airlines since. The aircraft was originally built for GATX and flew first on 25 October 2001 with the test registration N1787B. It was leased Sky Airlines and delivered as TC-SKC on 16 November 2001. On 15 June 2005, Boeing 737 TC-SKC "Smile in the Sky" was photographed at Groningen Airport Eelde in the Netherlands when operated on a holiday flight.
