The Turkish charter airliner Sky Airlines (SHY) was established in 2000 as an affiliate of the KayiGroup, located in Antalya. Commercial flights started on April 12th 2001 with a fleet of 2 Boeing 737-400 airliners. The Boeing 737-4Q8 TC-SKD was leased from ILFC in May 2002 and is operated by Sky Airlines since. The aircraft was originally built for ILFC and flew first on April 24, 1992. It was leased first by THY and delivered on May 8th 1992 as TC-JDI. When the Boeing entered service with Sky Airlines in May 2002 the aircraft was registered TC-SKD. The TC-SKD "Black Eagle" was photographed on June 5, 2004 at Groningen Airport Eelde in the Netherlands when operated on a holiday flight.
