EC-GZD Airbus A320-214 c/n 879 - Iberworld - Palma de Mallorca Airport in Spain - 21 June 2001

more at Groningen Airport Eelde

Iberworld Airlines is part of the Grupo Iberostar and started their operations in April 1998 with two leased Airbus A320 airliners. In 2005 Iberworld operated a fleet of 10 airliners including the Airbus A.320 and A.330.

Airbus A.320-214 s/n 879 EC-GZD was originally built for GECAS and flew first with the test registration F-WWDD on 26 August 1998. The Airbus was leased by Iberworld and was delivered as EC-GZD on 10 December 1998. On 12 March 1999, the EC-GZD was involved in an accident at Groningen Airport Eelde in the Netherlands. During taxi prior to departure the aircraft did not respond to the pedal brake and in order to avoid a collision with another aircraft the captain manoeuvred the aircraft from the apron. The aircraft came to a stop in the grass adjacent to the apron.
