Onur Air was founded on May 14, 1992 and started their flying operations started with the Airbus A320. In 2005 Onur operated a fleet of 24 airliners including the Airbus A.300, A.320 and A.321 and the McDonnell Douglas MD-88. The Airbus A.321-231 s/n 787 TC-OAK is leased from ILFC. It was originally built for ILFC and flew first on January 28th 1999 with the test registration D-AVZD. The Airbus was leased first by Aero Lloyd and was delivered on February 2nd 1998 as D-ALAI. After the demise of German charter carrier Aero Lloyd, the former Aero Lloyd A.321-321 was transferred to Onur Air and re-registered TC-OAK on February 3rd 2004. The Airbus was photographed on April 27th 2004 when operating the Onur Air flight OHY 2264 from Groningen in the Netherlands to Dalaman in Turkey. The TC-OAK was still flying in the logo jet colours it operated for Aero Lloyd, and advertises for Trigema.
