The Turkish charter airliner Sky Airlines (SHY) was established in 2000 as an affiliate of the KayiGroup, located in Antalya. On 12 April 2001, commercial flights started with a fleet of 2 Boeing 737-400 airliners. The Boeing 737-85F TC-SKC was leased from GATX in November 2001 and is operated by Sky Airlines since. The aircraft was originally built for GATX and flew first on 25 October 2001 with the test registration N1787B. The airliner was leased to Sky Airlines and delivered as TC-SKC on 16 November 2001.
On 15 June 2005, Sky Airlines' Boeing 737-85F TC-SKC "Smile in the Sky" was seen at Groningen Airport Eelde (EHGG/GRQ).
