    ZK-HOQ Hughes 369D c/n 700709D

In Emmen in the Netherlands are a number of helicopter landing sites. The heliport of Heli-Holland in the hamlet Emmer-Erfscheidenveen, near the orbital road of Emmen, is the best utilised. On this location the Heli Holland head office and the maintenance centre of Heli Holland Technics BV are located. Among the helicopters which became maintenance on this location was the Hughes 500 ZK-HOQ. This in New Zealand registered and in Ardmore, New Zealand-based Hughes 369D of the Greenpeace Marine Division was far from home at the Heli-Holland heliport in Emmen. On March 21,1994 it was photographed first, when testflying after maintenance. The chopper departed the same day to the Solo and reached this ship near the coast of England. Fitted with floats, this helicopter is frequently used from Greenpeace's ships such as the new Rainbow Warrior. Greenpeace, an independent organisation that campaigns to protect the environment, has some 4.5 million members world-wide. Greenpeace operates a number of ships and aircraft for their needs. Greenpeace's violent-free direct actions draw much public attention, but also the attention of others, documented by the Rainbow Warrior I, which was bombed and sunk in the night of July 10, 1985 in Auckland Harbour, New-Zealand by French secret service agents. On August 1, 1996 the Hughes was photographed again when in Emmen for maintenance.

PH-SSP Aerospatiale SA.365N Dauphin 2 c/n 6072

Eurocopter AS.365N2 PH-SSP of Schreiner Airways was photographed on July 2, 1995 at the Heli-Holland heliport. The PH-SSP was stationed at Den Helder-de Kooy in the Netherlands. Out of Den Helder this Schreiner helicopter was operated to the oil-platforms off-shore. The 2-engined SA.365 was developed in 1973 by Aerospatiale out of the single-engine SA.360 Dauphin. The prototype, a SA.365C, flew first on January 24, 1975. The AS.365N2 is an improved version equipped with two Turboméca Arriel 1C2 turboshafts. The PH-SSP was registered on January 3, 1984 by Schreiner Airways BV. From November 19, 1987 until January 27, 1989 the helicopter was leased to Mc Alpine Helicopters as G‑BNZY. On 17 July 1998, registration PH-SSP was cancelled and the Dauphin 2 was registered 5N-ESO.

 
PH-NZR Sikorsky S-61N c/n 61.808

King Gustav of Sweden was one of the guests with the opening of the new plant and research centre of Ericsson Radio Systems in Emmen on September 8, 1990. The guests were flown in by KLM Helikopters with two Sikorsky S-61N: PH-NZI #1 and PH-NZR #2. The helicopters landed near the Ericsson facilities. The 1978 built PH-NZR (ex. LN-OQN) was registered on 03/04/1986 with KLM NV and operated by KLM Helikopters BV. The PH‑NZR was used for offshore flights out of Den Helder-de Kooy. On 10/12/1993 the PH‑NZR was registered with KLM ERA Helicopters. After the registration was cancelled on 11/02/1998 the helicopter was registered on 18/02/1998 in the USA as N563EH with ERA Aviation Inc.

 
D-HFSC Aerospatiale AS.350 B Ecureuil c/n 1737

HFS - Helicopter-Flug-Service GmbH operated in 1995 four of their Ecureuils on different times out of the Heli-Holland heliport in Emmen when on duty with the building of a new high tension network. The Ecureuils towed the electricity cables from pole to pole on the section Eemshaven - Emmen - Zwolle. The 1983 built Ecureuil D-HFSC was photographed on April 24, 1995. The D-HFSC (ex.SE-HNF) was registered in Germany in August 1993. On 22/08/2001 the D-HFSC of HFS crashed in an emergency landing near Beverungen, Germany, due to engine failure. The airframe was sold to France, rebuilt and registered F-GULP as an AS350BAon 10 September 2002 .

 
N206NT Bell Helicopter Textron 206B NTH c/n 4216

In 1961, twelve companies submitted proposals to meet U.S.Army requirements for a four-seat turbine-powered light observation helicopter. After evaluation, three designs were selected and 5 of each, including the Bell OH-4A, were ordered for trials by the U.S.Army Aviation Board. However the Bell OH-4A didn't win the competition, it was a succes as the Bell 206 JetRanger. The aircraft was continues improved and was the winner of the competiton for the New Training Helicopter (NTH)on 30 March 1993. The U.S.Army ordered 157 airframes as TH-67 Creek, followed by the U.S.Navy which ordered 320 as the TH-57. The Bell Helicopter Textron Inc.' NTH demonstrator N206NT visited the Heli-Holland heliport on 19 July 1995.

 
N139JS Schweizer 269C c/n S1704

The heavy equiped Schweizer 269C N139JS is owned by Air Flite Inc. and operated by FLI MAP. It was flown in at AMS as airfreight out of the USA, trucked to Emmen, built up with Heli-Holland and flown to Teuge. After three weeks hard working for measurements along the rivers in Holland it flew back to Emmen. It was crated again and returned as airfreight to the USA. Just before being towed into the hangar to get crated, the Schweizer was photographed on 25 March 1997.

 
HA-MST Hughes 269C / 300C c/n 110-0067

The first of two prototypes of the two-seat Hughes Model 269 helicopter flew first in October 1956, only 13 months after commencement of design work. The basic design sparked US Army interest to order 5, designated YHO-2-HU, for evaluation. Deliveries of the commercial Model 269A, designated Hughes 200, started in 1961. The three-seat Model 269B, designated Hughes 300, flew first in 1964. In 1969, the 300 was followed by the improved Model 269C, designated Hughes 300C. Heli-Holland Hughes 269C PH-HIH (ex. N9640F) was registered on 25/10/1984. It was transferred to Heli-Hungary in 1994 and photographed with its new registration at the heliport of Heli-Holland in Emmen on 2 September 1994.

 
A-292 Aerospatiale SE.3160 Aloutte III c/n 1292

Om 19 September 1997, Sud-Est SE.3160 Alouette III A-292 of the Royal Netherlands Air Force 300 squadron visited the Heli-Holland heliport. The A-292 was owned by the Royal Netherlands Army, but operated by the RNethAF. The Alouette III was delivered 5 July 1965 to the 299 squadron of the Groep Lichte Vliegtuigen (GpLV); in fact the Army operating within the Royal Netherlands Air Force. In 1979, the Alouette III was transferred tot the 300 sqdn. The A-292 is mainly used for VIP-transport.

 
B-67 MBB BO-105CB c/n S.0267

The Police Aviation MBB BO.105CBS-4 PH-RPZ was photographed on "the Es", next to the entrance of the new part of the Emmen Zoo. The 1988-built helicopter was registered on 5 April 2006 with the Politie Luchtvaart Dienst as PH-RPZ. It was operated before as D-HNWJ with Polizei Nordrhein-Westfalen and was known as 'Hummel 10'. On 13 June 2006, PH-RPZ was active in southeast Drenthe. Equipped with an external camera environment flights were carried out. On the ground In the municipality house On the ground live with the pictures and action it was looked with was if necessary undertaken directly.

 
G-ZWAR Eurocopter EC-120 B Colibri c/n 1024

The Eurocopter EC120 flew first on 9 June 1995. The EC120B is a 5 seat single engine helicopter. The 1999-built Eurocopter EC-120B G-ZWAR was photographed at the Heli-Holland heliport on 15 May 2008. when hired by Hel Holland. The Colibri was registered D-HVIP with the VHM Schul und Charterflug in March 1999. It came in at Emmen early 2000 as D-HVIP. After being overhauled by Heli Holland Technics, the EC-120B was registered in the UK on 14/04/2000 as G-ZWAR with Hedgeton Trading Ltd. and delivered in Spain. On 22 July 2008, the aircraft was registered PH-ECR with Heli Holland B.V.
